Strong Japanese NIDEC engine

The core of every quality vacuum cleaner is a good engine. The Mi Vacuum Cleaner has a powerful Japanese NIDEC engine with a suction pressure of up to 1,800 Pa and a capacity of 0.67m3 of air per minute. It is one of the most powerful robotic vacuum cleaners on the market.

A strong engine comes in handy on long-haired carpets or when vacuuming along the walls, a traditional weakness of other robotic vacuum cleaners. A small round toothbrush is used to impregnate dirt and dust under the vacuum cleaner unit.

Of course, it is not always necessary to vacuum at maximum power, one of the three power stages can be selected in the control application. So, if you keep using the vacuum cleaner every day, it is enough to keep a lower performance that goes hand in hand with a quieter run. The noise level of the vacuum cleaner varies from 62 to 68 dB depending on the performance mode.

All trash is stored in a 0.42 liter container and, if necessary, the vacuum cleaner warns you that the container needs to be emptied. The main brush is placed freely on the vacuum cleaner, so it can move in the vertical axis to provide the right pressure on all types of carpets and floors.

The air flow continues from the vessel through a large HEPA filter where small dust particles are trapped and thus not sprayed back into the room when vacuumed. The HEPA filter replacement can be purchased with us as an accessory.

12 sensors for perfect orientation

Mi Vacuum Cleaner is equipped with twelve sensors. That's really above the expectations.

The most advanced is definitely the laser distance sensor. It is located at the top in the crown of the vacuum cleaner that rotates 360° and the sensor scans the entire neighborhood of your household 1800x per second. The LDS laser sensor is very similar to that one found in modern autonomous vehicles.

Also in the vacuum cleaner you will find the ultrasonic radar sensor, stair detector, wall detector, full litter detector, collision detector, electronic compass, gyroscope, accelerometer, distance sensor, fan speed sensor and lift detector.

Based on the information from the laser sensor, distance meter, accelerometer, and gyroscope, the optimal vacuuming route in your home is calculated by means of an advanced SLAM (Simultaneous localization and mapping) algorithm. Three different and powerful processors can be used to quickly calculate the route. This is just another difference from competing cheaper vacuum cleaners that the room route usually evaluates based on collisions with fixed obstacles, they do not have first-class orientation in space and therefore a relatively large part of the area can not be effectively vacuumed. On the left, you can see the Mi Vacuum Cleaner, working efficiently with a precisely calculated route, and on the right, there's an ordinary robotic vacuum cleaner that sucks randomly according to the obstacles.

The vacuum cleaner runs along a wall at a precisely defined distance of 10mm and a small round toothbrush cares to make this 10mm space perfectly clean.

The pair of ultrasonic sensors in the front bumper transmit and receive signals at 340m/s to calculate the distance between the vacuum cleaner and the fixed obstacle. There is no chance that the vacuum cleaner might have hit the glass door.

The four staircase detectors protects the vacuum cleaner from falling down the stairs, the distance meter measures the total distance in cleaner's lifetime, very similiar to car's odometer.


The vacuum cleaner is less than 10cm high, so it can easily get under the furniture. If you want to prevent the vacuum from going to some specific place, you can buy a special magnetic tape that serves as a virtual wall.

5200mAh Li-Ion battery

Mi Vacuum Cleaner is equipped with a massive 5200mAh Li-Ion battery. The cells are from respected LG/Panasonic companies.

This capacity is sufficient when fully charged up to 2.5 hours of continuous vacuuming, up to 250m2 of space. Of course, it always depends on specific conditions.

The battery charge level is indicated in a round LED indicator around the vacuum cleaner buttons. When it is white, the battery has more than 50% of the capacity, if it is orange, it's charged between 20-50%, but if it turns red, the battery is below 20% capacity. But it does not have to worry you, the vacuum cleaner automatically stops the operation, goes to charge the station, recharges and resume the operation where it stopped before.

The Mi Home control application combines the control of a all Xiaomi smart home products.

The app can be connected to your Xiaomi account. You can control your smart devices from any place in the world. You don't have to be at home to start vacuuming the floor or to check the temperature at your home.

With the Mi Vacuum Cleaner, you can set the timer when and how often will be your home vacuumed. You can also control the suction power and see the route of the cleaner.
